| Phase Transfer Catalysis is the process in which there is enhancement of reaction rate among two-phase organic-water system by including or adding of compound which is helpful to transfer the water soluble reactant across the interface to the organic phase. This process also involves the transfer of inorganic anions, from the aqueous phase to the organic phase. Such transportation is caused when there is a creating of non solvated ion-pair together with cationic phase. This plant process is desired to increase productivity, improve quality, reduce manufacturing costs, improve environmental safety and reduce other production risks. Even though this process is quite beneficial yet it is not adopted by many chemical industries which may be due to lack of knowledge, applicability or expertise. |
